Big Girl Panties

I thought being a "corporate slave" was demanding, but being a stay at home wife, without children, is even more demanding than going to an ol' 9-5 er!!!
When I quit my job in December, I daydreamed about days that had never ending hours to do whatever my little heart pleased, time to spend with girlfriends, my house would magically be sparkling clean everyday, and hot, healthy food on the table for the hubs.

Yeah Right!

There is still 24 hours in every day, although sometimes I feel like the days are getting shorter.

My house is NOT magically cleaned everyday, I have to scrub, wipe, and polish everyday and I have dry hands and cuticles to prove so!

And the hubs, if he hasn't already ate with his buds during lunch, he normally eats spaghetti or chicken. ha. (or nothing at all!)

We are about to be taking on a very big "project" soon, more to be blogged about that later.

My time is going to be doubled demanded when that comes into play....I guess I'm going to have to put my big girl panties on and deal with it as I've been told! haha.

My hubby and I are new born-again Christians, and with that comes A LOT of attacks from the devil. And boy have we been feeling it lately! One of our closest relationships, I feel, was attacked this past week, and I don't know if I had some sort of veil over my eyes, but I sure did not see that it was the devil! Thank GOD that they sought after us, and we thank GOD that we have Him to show us the way!!
You know, another thing that we have noticed is that we have definitely been sensitized by becoming closer to God, it seems like things that used to bounce right off of us, not sticks like glue. We are in the process of learning to speak out what we are feeling and not to keep it all in....We're also learning to not put expectations on people, that is just no good any way you think about it. This week has definitely been humbling for us....A LOT of life lessons have been learned!

On another fun, light note, Kelly and I had lunch today at Sams boat, which is off of Lake Conroe, it was so FUN to sit outside near the water and have girl time. We talked, and shared our hearts...and it was SO needed! We than walked down to the water and visited this little shop that has high end bath/body/candles/home decor and the cutest baby stuff!! As so many of you know, Kelly is in the process of growing her own candle/bath/body store, (you can check out her blog at http://cassiaskitchen.blogspot.com/ ) and she has been talking about expanding her stuff and putting her products in different stores...this store IS perfect for her...so I think anyone who reads this blog needs to go over to her blog and give her some support/motivation to boost her up!!!!

If you guys haven't seen or smelled her product you're at a lost!! Her products are made of soy, they're beautiful and body loving!!
I know, this is a very random blog, but I haven't written in a few days......thought I'd give you some more reading material..... :-D ha.

Cupcakes Everywhere!!!!!!!

Has anyone else noticed the cupcake craze, or am I the only one?!

THERE is this new facsination with these cupcakes, they are everywhere, fabric ones, fake ones, bath-bomb ones, they're on purses, shoes, shirts, and of course there's the real ones...!

And I've been bitten by the cupcake fairy I guess, now I want to have purses, shoes with them on there, I want to bathe with them ((You can find some Wonderful ones made by Kelly @ http://cassiaskitchen.blogspot.com/ She makes a awesome smelling, body loving Hello Sweet Thang cupcake that will rock your world!!))

I want to eat them!! I want to bake them, I want to decorate them, and of course I want to eat them! (I said that already didn't I?!)

Ooh Wee, Spring is Here!!

Oh Mi Oh My, It is So pretty outside!!

I have been a busy bee lately, being house-wifey, having a absolute blast with Miss Kelly ( http://cassiaskitchen.blogspot.com/) at her "tween" party making soaps, and bath and body fun stuff!! Those little girls were so precious and sweet!! And I got to go home with body spray and lip balm, which is oh so tasty!

Here are the sweet girls that I got to spend my day with....They're precious aren't they?!?!

Here are some pictures of things I've been working on, the first one was a trio of blue wooden hearts that I decided to attack with modpodge and some good ol' harley davidson tissue paper--

The pictures don't really do it justice..the gray streaks are supposed to look like "grease stains"...

Next is something that I made today Miss Kelly's daughter lil' miss casey is so sweet and is getting some of my lasagna tomorrow and I wanted to present it to her in a pretty little container, so with some fabric, modpodge and white paint here is what I came up with--

I hope she loves it, I think it's quite cute, although its not washable....maybe she can stick some of her knick knacks in there :-D

My O' so amazing husband bought me a new book yesterday called "I'll have what she's having", a christian womans book...I am loving what I've been reading so far. I will share with you guys more tomorrow as to what it is all about.
In fact, I am going to go read some more right now, I feel the need to spend some time with God right now.....

So, today while waiting for the gas guy to come to our house, I became bored...I started to look through cook books to see what new exciting dish I could make for dinner for the hubs one day next week....and I came across a cake donut recipe....I took pictures of my process, but.....i don't know where my usb cable is to upload them......
but anywho, I didn't feel like making the regular circles with the holes in the middle, i just made the holes! Those are the best part of the donut anyways, riiight?!
I think my grease was too hot though, because the outsides got a little burnt...but that didn't matter, the hubs just about ate them all up!
Admist all the powder sugar and flour I stopped to spend some time with God today....I was doing a little studying in my bible and came across a few quotes that are spread out through my bible...(it's a womans study bible) and here is a few that sparked something in me...maybe they will you too......

I get so many things out of those 3 quotes...woman are powerful, powerful creatures ((Hear us roar!!)) and yet, sometimes we lose sight of things, and we get caught up in the ho-hum of life and don't appreciate ourselves or the people around us. For me, reading little quotes like that put that spark back in my step and help me realize that sometimes the smallest things we do for others can mean more to them than we will ever know....and it helps me to remember that when I have an attitude it can bring others down, but if I do these small things throughout the day with love in my heart and a smile on my face, it will not only make my or your heart happy, it will make Gods heart happy too. Isn't that what we all want to do? I know that is becoming my everyday goal :-D

Spiritual Core.....what?!

I am reading a book right now called "Stop acting like a christian, just be one!" by Christine Caine. I bought this book almost 6 months ago and it sort of became one of those books that gets tossed in the bathroom for guests to read.......while...well you know....Today, I went in there to mop the floor and noticed it and a spark of interest went off .....

I am currently on the Chapter that talks about your "spiritual core"....Being a new christian like myself, I had to ask myself "Spriritual Core, What?!" The book goes on to say that our "spriritual core" is described in the following 2 commandments...

(1) "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind"

(2) "You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Matt. 22:37-39)

All in all, our spiritual core is our heart, soul, and mind, these are the things that enable us to love God wholly and completely. The chapter goes on to say that we must develop our core spiritual muscles if we desire to be spiritually healthy. Also, strengthening them is not to just benefit ourselves, but it will benefit others, because if you remember, God has called us to not only love Him, but to love others as well. As I read more of this book, and The Book I can only hope that I will develop these spiritual core muscles correctly and in a timely passionate way...because just like the song goes "I want to be just like Jesus...." ((AMEN!))

Now onto my "thrifting-ness", I had an absolute BLAST thrift shopping with Miss Tracey (http://www.polkadotpicketfence.blogspot.com/) last week and came upon some SUPER cute vintage china plates...I am hoping to collect enough little pieces to have my own "unique" set. Little Miss Tracey found SO many cute things for her purses and other projects she is currently working on.

Here we are literally sitting on the floor in a thrift shop rummaging through fabrics and sheets...

I look a little crazed, I don't think I had quite enough coffee that day, and plus it was HOT and I apparently forgot I lived in Texas and wore a sweater with nothing under it...silly me!!
I am going to meet up with her this week and maybe some of her creativity will rub off on me and I can make things to show you guys! I am quite excited!!!

All I can say is Wow...

So, I have been "playing" around on this blog thing for a good part of my day and any breaks that I get from "cleaning" and I have found it to be quite easy and a little entertaining....
I have been feeling quite creative lately...like I said yesterday...with nothing to create! So, I rummaged through my closet and found a plain wicker wreath and some fabric and am in the process of making my first wreath....A simple project, I know..but I am hoping it will turn out fabulous! Maybe I can get creative enough to have an Etsy shop?! Who Knows the possibilities!!
As of right now I have no "followers", so I feel sort of funny writing and sharing...so this "post" will probably be just as short as yesterdays.....

Hello Gals, (& boys who may read blogs as well!)
I have been surrounded by many amazing creative women lately and it is making my inner creative fashionista want to jump out! So, here I am, ready to create and I don't know what to create!!! I have been following many different wonderful blogs and have many ideas.....now I just need to put them into action and create!!
I am going to clean out some rooms this week and set up a "craft area" in one of them so I can make some made from my heart creations......and they will be beautiful!
I can't wait to start.....
